“How Did You Do That?” … The question I hear every week!
Most people think magic is about tricks and rabbits in hats… It isn’t – and honestly hasn’t really ever been.
The real astonishment happens in the tiny moments your mind never notices. A shift in attention, or a hidden assumption, and even decisions you believed were completely your own.
That’s why the strongest reactions at live events isn’t the applause. It’s the silence afterwards. The disbelief, the nervous laughter, and then the inevitable question:
“How did you do that?”
Recently, at a private party, I asked a guest to think of a line from a film. Just as a thought in her mind. Moments later, I revealed exactly what she was thinking. Her reaction, and the reactions of the guests around her, said everything. Shock. Laughter. Complete disbelief.
At one point, someone simply shouted:
“No way!”
