Eight Years in One Building, and It Still Catches People Out
The Ned occupies Sir Edwin Lutyens’ old Midland Bank headquarters on Poultry — a banking hall the size of a cathedral, with nine restaurants, a members’ club, and a rooftop that looks straight at St Paul’s.
Roberto Forzoni has been its resident magician and mind reader for eight years, working for members and their guests at private parties across the whole building.
Eight years in one venue teaches you things a visiting performer never learns: which rooms swallow a punchline, when a table wants interrupting and when it very much does not, how long a group at the bar will stay together before it dissolves. It is the difference between performing in a room and performing to it.
It is also, quite simply, one of the most beautiful places in London to work — and the staff there are as good as any in the city.

The Regulars Are the Hardest Audience You Can Have
Members come back week after week. They have seen him before, they bring friends specifically to watch those friends be fooled, and they arrive actively trying to catch him.
That is the most useful audience a mentalist can have, and the reason the material never stands still. Nothing survives eight years in front of the same people unless it genuinely cannot be worked out.
From the Vaults to the Rooftop
Nine Restaurants, a Bank Vault and a Pool on the Roof
The work moves through the whole building. Down in the old basement vaults, in the Kennels, in the Parlour — and up on the roof, by the swimming pool and out on the new terrace.
Each space asks for something different. A vault below ground and an open terrace eight floors up are not the same room, and they do not take the same performance.

Booking a private dining room, a party in the club or a company event at The Ned? Roberto can be booked directly for it, and arrives knowing the rooms, the running orders and most of the team already.
No site visit, no briefing on where things are, no wondering whether the entertainment will fit the venue. He has spent eight years finding out.

The Ned’s events team like Roberto for a simple reason: he needs nothing from them.

Tell Me About Your Event
Send your date, the room you are in, guest numbers and running order. Roberto replies personally, usually within 24 hours.

We Agree the Format
Mingling during the reception, table magic through dinner, or a seated performance for a smaller party. Roberto suggests what suits the room and your timings.

You Enjoy the Night
He arrives self-contained, introduces himself to the banqueting team, and performs without stage, power, sound or floor space.

Everything your venue and event manager need, before they have to ask.
Guest Numbers
For close-up mingling, Roberto comfortably covers 80–120 guests in a two-hour performance. For events of up to 300 he extends the performance or recommends a second performer.
Setup Requirements
None. No stage, no PA, no lighting and no power supply. He works in the room exactly as it is laid out.
Insurance & Documentation
Full public liability insurance, with documentation supplied to the hotel or your event management company on request.
