Just when you thought The Ned couldn’t possibly have the space to add another restaurant or bar to its existing roster of 27(!), those ingenious folks from the Soho House Group have opened one of the most delightful dining rooms in London. Set in The Ned’s club downstairs – so, sadly, open to members only, meaning you just might have to beg, borrow or steal an invite – modern British classics are served in a cosy but beautifully ornate space, complete with stunning bird mural on the central pillar. The food is comforting but elevated: the Keen’s Cheddar gnocchi is a sinfully delicious, grownup reminder of macaroni cheese, the roast Launceston lamb cooked to perfection.
