You have thought of everything.
The wine is right, the table looks beautiful, and everyone who should be there is. And then, somewhere between courses, something happens that no one was expecting. Not a show, or a stage necessarily. Something impossible, right in front of your eyes, in your own home.
For a moment your guests forget the conversation they were having. They look at each other. Then they look at you. That is the part they remember. And you are the one who arranged it.
I am a mind reader and close-up magician based in London. Most evenings I do exactly this: moving quietly between guests at private dinners, leaving each small group with something they cannot quite explain. I am a member of the Inner Magic Circle with Gold Star, and I perform twice every week at The Ned, and periodically at The Magician’s Table.
No two corners of the table see quite the same thing. A magically appearing lemon, a thought no one spoke aloud, a card that ends up somewhere it could not possibly be. By the time everyone compares notes, the stories no longer match, and that is half the pleasure of it. Nobody is sitting still, watching an act. The evening simply carries on, only now there is something running underneath it.
It suits the evenings that already matter. A milestone birthday, an anniversary, or a dinner for the people who have seen most things before. As a private party magician in London, I spend a good deal of the year in rooms exactly like the one you are planning, and the response is always excellent, whoever is at the table.
This kind of dinner party entertainment feels less like a performance and more like a secret you choose to share.
Just last week, Jake left a review saying: “Genuinely mind blowing, Roberto promised it would be something we’d never seen before and boy did he deliver. Made our evening at the dinner table at The Ned.”
We’re getting booked up for this year very quickly. If you have an evening in mind, drop me an email and I will hold the date.
Warmly,
Roberto
